Help!
My friend is starting chemo next week.
Her
doctors told her absolutely NO herbs or vitamins, no antioxidants,
while she is on the chemo. She
has been doing an herbal program which is helping and she doesn't
want to stop.
Not using herbs and vitamins doesn't make much sense to me.
I know of people who have used herbs right along with their
chemo and it helped them not loose their hair, and helped keep
their energy up.
So do any of you know what reason there would be for the docs
to say NO herbs? I am not familiar with the different types
of chemo drugs out there.
Thanks for your input.

RESPONSE...
This
is quite frustrating, but here is their theory!
Chemotherapy
creates free radicals, their theory is that free radicals may
aid in killing off the cancer. And of course antioxidants fight
free radicals. But, quite the opposite is usually the case,
with the free radicals actually causing more caner!!!!!!
The
statistics for getting more or even a different type of cancer
when on heavy chemo is quite frightening. Also, Doctors have
this notion of starving the body of nutrition in order to starve
the cancer. What type of treatment is that??????
But
in the end, we have to do what we feel is best for us, I wouldnt
go with out the herbs NO WAY!
